Place: Busselton Senior Citizens Centre
Speaker: Warren Giddens
Topic: Strategic Planning, City of Busselton
Warren Giddens has recently been appointed to the position of Strategic Planning Coordinator for the City of Busselton. He is therefore responsible for the development of the future direction of the City of Busselton’s plan at a strategic level.
Warren will be talking about how this plan is developed and what parameters are considered when setting the direction of that plan.
In asking him to talk to the Busselton Naturalists Club, it was suggested that members would be particularly interested in how strategic planning for the future takes into account:
- Retention of reserves such as Ambergate and Meelup and the retention of their environmental values
- Development of future reserves across the entirety of the City landscape
- Green space consideration in urban development
- Ribbon development vs village development with green spaces between
- Retention of adequate wildlife corridors in urban development
- Retention of the Broadwater and similar swamp areas.
Please contact me if you would like to book a meal at the Esplanade Hotel before the meeting.
Tea & coffee will be available at the meeting for $2 per cup.
